102-year-old World War II veteran celebrates birthday in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A World War II veteran celebrated his 102nd birthday in Louisville this weekend.

James “Ralph” Cochran was a radio operator in the United States Army Air Forces from 1943-46. He served as a gunner and radio operator in World War II.

Cochran has been a life-long Kentuckian. He was born Jan. 26, 1923 in Lynnville and spent most of his life in Hopkinsville. He moved to Louisville in his older age to be closer to family…
