40-foot sculpture lights up west Louisville neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Visual Art (LVA) began the programming of a new art fixture in the Portland neighborhood by lighting it Thursday.

The 40-foot 3-D light up sculpture is called SPARK, standing for student, professional, art resources, and knowledge. The sculpture was designed by an art group in Oregon, but funded with a $250,000 grant from the Rounsavall Foundation. Local artists from Rockerbuilt Studio and LVA created and assembled the LED and steel structure.
