LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After spending the last 17 years tracking incoming weather at WHAS11 News, Chief Meteorologist Ben Pine will be stepping away from the forecast models on Friday.
“I want to thank you, the viewer, for allowing me into your homes for the last 17 years, and trusting our forecasts,” he wrote on social media. “After a pretty difficult last couple of years (for a variety of reasons), and after very much thought and consideration, I have decided it’s time for a change, and more time with my family.”
Pine’s television debut occurred in fifth grade when St. Louis Meteorologist John Fuller put him on the noon news for winning a tornado drawing contest. When he grew up, he went on to work at several news stations before settling down at WHAS11 in 2008…
