Bond set at $500,000 for suspect in murder outside Newburg liquor store

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 46-year-old man charged with murder after a man was shot and killed in the Newburg neighborhood last week pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

It happened in the evening hours of April 30, according to court documents. Louisville Metro Police said Kapongo Badibanga and Joshua Mulinda were arguing inside the Liquor Palace in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Road, near East Indian Trail.

After leaving the business, the two continued arguing in the parking lot until Badibanga allegedly pulled a gun and shot Mulinda four times before running away…
