‘Let’s stop killing each other’: Derby weekend across Louisville leaves five dead, several injured

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Violence across Louisville began early the morning of the Kentucky Derby, where people were celebrating in West Louisville.

A large gathering in the parking lot of Parkland’s Kroger erupted in gunfire, leaving two dead and one injured.

“It was a big crowd out there,” Leonardo Boyd said, who recalled watching it unfold as he was walking by. “When the accident happened, everybody was running around panicking and everything.”…
