LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Louisville Division says it has seized enough fentanyl so far in 2025 to kill everyone in metro Louisville 11 times over.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), 22 kilograms are off Louisville streets now. A spokesperson told WAVE News that equals 11 million lethal doses.
“Right now, the greatest threat facing our community is fentanyl,” Erek Davodowich, Assistant Special Agent in Charge with the DEA’s Louisville Division, said. “This synthetic opioid kills more Americans annually than any other drug. While Centers for Disease Control data shows that fentanyl related deaths are decreasing year over year, we still have a lot of work to do.”…
