Nigel B. Beach, 33, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, has been charged after police seized an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 suspected fentanyl pills during a traffic stop on Interstate 65 near Lowell.
The stop occurred on May 21, 2025, when officers with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Highway Interdiction and Drug Task Force pulled over a southbound vehicle for a windshield obstruction and a moving violation. While Beach retrieved vehicle documents, officers observed a clear bag of suspected marijuana in the glove compartment. A subsequent probable cause search uncovered multiple plastic bags containing suspected fentanyl pills located on the floor of the vehicle.
