Judge orders man accused in double homicide released, charges dimissed after tense hearing

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville murder suspect who’s spent two years in jail awaiting trial was ordered released from custody after a tense hearing between prosecutors and the judge.

Police arrested David Morales in June of 2023 in connection to the murders of 32-year-old Haris Boskailo and 21-year-old Alden Fernandez outside of Hoops Grill & Sports Bar on Strawberry Lane two months prior. He was then charged with two counts of complicity to murder, complicity to tampering with physical evidence and complicity to receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Morales was set to go to trial on June 9, 2025, but his attorneys argued the case should be dismissed because the Commonwealth just turned over a bunch of evidence the day before, including a recorded interview with co-defendant Isaac Castellanos…
