LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sisters Shawnna and Jamil Anderson sold their family home this year as part of the Louisville Economic Development lien forgiveness program. The dilapidated property sat empty, requiring a full remodel. Shawnna barely recognized it.
“It was all just right here,” she said. “This was the hub of the house. You could stand here, go that way—” except she couldn’t. When she turned, she said, “there’s not even stairs here anymore,” and bubbled into laughter.
When she looks out the back window, she sees a chance for a new family’s memories…
