LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A vacant lot off Main Street between Clay and Shelby Streets could soon see new life. It’s currently centered in an ordinance going through Metro Council to create a tax increment financing (TIF) program with nearly $40 million of tax incentives going toward the $255.3 million project.
The eight-story mixed-use development plans include 570 parking spaces for a public parking garage, about 390 multi-family residential units, approximately 135 medium-term rental units, around 14,818 square feet of retail space, and an estimated 29,337 square feet of office space.
The lot has remained vacant since Service Tank left in 2016. WHAS11 News reported on a similar project going on the lot in 2023 that never came to fruition…
