KENTUCKY — On this week’s program, we’re discussing Pride Month here in the Commonwealth, which is an annual celebration in June that honors the LGBTQIA plus community, their history and their ongoing fight for equality.
According to the Library of Congress, Pride Month is celebrated in remembrance of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
