As you know, there are no shortages of swimming holes in Kentucky. Whether it be a private lake that you and your friends frequent or one of the more popular lakes scattered throughout the state, there are a lot of options to choose from. Since summer is upon us, now is as good a time as ever to talk about Kentucky swimming holes. We all have our go-to swimming holes that we visit throughout the summer, most of which are located fairly close to where we live. But if you want to try out a new swimming hole in Kentucky that might require some traveling, you might as well visit the one that was named the best in the state, right?
The website, Outdoors Wire, shared a list that contains the best swimming hole in each state. The best swimming hole in Kentucky, according to this publication, is like a hidden paradise. The only catch is that it is an adult-only swimming hole.
The Best Swimming Hole in Kentucky
Outdoors Wire says that Falling Rock Park is Kentucky’s best swimming hole. Falling Rock Park is the perfect weekend road trip for you and your friends to have a blast together. Located in LaGrange, Kentucky, Falling Rock Park is filled with nothing but rainwater. No ground runoff dumps into the quarry, the water is free of chemicals, and motorized water sports are prohibited. This means that the water is clear, clean, natural, and absolutely beautiful!
As previously mentioned, this place is a kid-free swimming hole. Their website says that because the quarry is 55+ feet deep with limited shallow areas, and the fact that there are no lifeguards on duty, everyone must be 18 or older.
