Louisville mom accused of repeatedly hitting child with hammer allegedly said, ‘let me finish her’

Zeinab Abdi, a Louisville mother, is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly beating her 6-year-old daughter with a hammer and leaving her in critical condition.

On June 19, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to a disturbance in the Park Duvalle area. When authorities arrived on the scene, they discovered a 6-year-old girl with severe blunt force injuries to her head, according to Wave. Abdi was arrested on the spot.

According to the arrest slip, the 40-year-old mother admitted to LMPD that she “frequently becomes extremely angry and has difficulty controlling herself.”  Abdi also told police that she became enraged and hit her daughter in the head with a hammer an unknown number of times…
