48 immigrants in Louisville become American citizens on the Fourth of July

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – As he sat at the Historic Locust Grove on Friday, Stephen Eria remembered his tough journey from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United States of America.

“Our parents, born in the Congo, there was a lot going on in Congo as a lot of people may know,” he explained. “It’s wars, fights, people dying and stuff, so they have to run from the Congo to a refugee camp.“

But on this Fourth of July, that journey came to an exciting end as he officially became an American citizen…
