Kentucky welcomes 48 new U.S. citizens on July Fourth

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On the Fourth of July, America’s 249th birthday, 48 people from 21 nations around the world celebrated their recently granted citizenship in the United States.

Locust Grove Historic Home in Louisville held its Independence Day naturalization ceremony Friday morning to officially welcome 48 new citizens.

“John F. Kennedy observed that quote, ‘Everywhere, immigrants have enriched and strengthen the fabric of American life.’ This observation remains ever true today,” David J. Hale, Western District Judge of Kentucky, said. “For those of you being sworn in today as new citizens of the United States, it is a day worthy of pride and personal accomplishment and a day in celebration for you and your family.”…
