LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Governor Andy Beshear announced a $130 million infrastructure project aimed at improving traffic flow, safety, and long-term growth in Louisville.
The nearly three-year initiative will overhaul the busy I-264/I-71/U.S. 42 interchange — one of the city’s most heavily traveled corridors.
The project includes reconstructing the I-264/U.S. 42 (Brownsboro Road) interchange into a single-point urban interchange (SPUI), widening I-264 between Westport Road (KY 1447) and I-71, and rebuilding the U.S. 42 bridge over I-264. New two-lane ramps will also be added from I-264 eastbound to I-71 northbound, and from I-264 westbound to Westport Road.
