Neighbors on Kingswood Way in Shively are still reeling after the early morning killing of two young women, identified as 22-year-old Amia Cox and 26-year-old Sontia Simmons. According to a July 7 report from WAVE News, Shively Police have named 35-year-old Labradford Jamarr Ward as the suspect in what they’ve classified as a domestic-related double homicide. Ward is considered armed and dangerous and remains at large as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of both victims. Police say the two women were friends and that Simmons had been in a relationship with the suspect. Authorities found both victims shot to death inside the home around 3 a.m. Monday morning. The murder suspect, Ward, has a criminal record and is wanted on charges of murder-domestic violence, murder, and illegal possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.…
