LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – On Tuesday, LMPD put youth violence and crime in the spotlight.
It came after an anonymous tip led to the arrest of three juveniles who police say had guns. LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey said a search warrant was executed at a home in the 1300 block of South 20th Street. Three teens were charged, and Humphrey said parents need to know where their kids are and be held accountable.
“You need to know where your kids are,” Humphrey said. “If I had a mechanism to deal with parents better whose kids commit violent crimes or caught doing violent crimes, I would prosecute parents all day long. But we have to do something different in this community when it comes dealing with kids, it’s extremely frustrating, you’re selling these kids short.”…
