Man dies in hospital after crash on Bardstown Road in southern Jefferson County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man has died after a crash in southern Jefferson County on Sunday, July 13.

Louisville police said the crash happened around 5:35 p.m. near the intersection of Bardstown Road and Race Road. Police said an initial investigation, alongside witness statements, showed the driver was heading southbound on Bardstown Road in the fast lane when he lost control for an unknown reason, and the car spun out of control and hit several trees.

EMS and Fern Creek Fire responded to the scene, and firefighters extricated the driver from the vehicle, LMPD said. The driver was taken to UofL Hospital, where he was in critical condition…
