LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville martial arts studio held its annual Kick Fest competition on Saturday, welcoming more than 150 people for a day of competition.
Sixteen states were represented, all competing in a qualifying competition for the International Combat Organization. First through third place winners will move on to the world championship in Wales in October.
“We travel, we compete on the world circuit. So being able to travel and get the kids out to see other things and experience other cultures, ethnicities and religions, and be able to fight the best,” Grand Master Khalid Raheem said. “You know, my daddy always used to say, ‘You can’t say you the best if you don’t compete against the best.’ And we’re considered from the world as one of the best.“…
