New grants open to help areas impacted by gun violence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – As concerns about youth gun violence continue to grow, efforts are underway from Louisville leaders to intervene and prevent future violence.

Recently, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and the Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) launched a new initiative called Get Busy.

It’s part of Greenberg’s Safe Louisville crime plan. The goal is to provide middle-school-aged youth who live in areas that are most affected by gun violence with new opportunities and activities after school and on weekends throughout the 2025-26 school year…
