Kentucky moving company barred from business after theft accusations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Louisville-based moving company has been barred from conducting business in Kentucky following a court order from the attorney general.

Attorney General Russell Coleman announced a lawsuit on Tuesday, Aug. 12, that accuses Margaret’s Movers, owned and operated by Margaret and Arthur “Stormy” Weathers, of stealing from its customers.

The attorney general’s office has reportedly received multiple complaints from customers reporting items that were never returned, damaged, stolen, or weren’t disclosed that they were being stored.

Some of the losses cost customers hundreds of thousands of dollars and ranged from jewelry to irreplaceable childhood memorabilia. One customer described their loss as the “equivalent to a fire.”…
