Police chief wants shooter off the street, calling him a ‘clear and present danger’

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman was shot and killed near S. 11th and W. Chestnut streets in Louisville outside Central High School, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

LMPD said around 8 a.m. at 10th and Chestnut Streets, shots were fired near several people going to school and bus stops. A woman walking a child to school was shot. She was taken to University Hospital where she died.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, shared his feelings and said, “I’m angry. I’m angry at the individual who killed this woman today. I’m angry at the people who shot at the same bus stop last week. I’m angry that people still do this in 2025.”
