LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerena Whethers warned potential juvenile offenders to “put the guns down,” and she called on state lawmakers to hold parents of offenders accountable.
“Let’s face it ladies and gentlemen, this has been a tough couple of weeks,” Whethers said Thursday as she spoke to reporters. “It is time for bold action and new solutions. Doing the same… doing and hoping to make things better on our own has not been enough.”
