Would Kentucky officials consider a law to punish parents for the gun crimes of their kids?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days after Louisville’s top prosecutor called on Kentucky lawmakers to pass legislation to hold parents accountable for serious youth crimes, city leaders say they support parts of the idea but also believe the bill would have to be carefully crafted.

Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerina Whethers wants state legislators to enact a law that would open parents up to punishment if their kids are charged with violent crimes while having a gun in their possession.
