All fresh milk removed from JCPS school cafeterias ‘effective immediately’

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools officials announced Wednesday that all fresh milk has been removed from school cafeterias “effective immediately.”

In an update sent to parents and guardians, JCPS officials said some students at a few schools drank milk and said it “tasted funny.” Some of the cafeteria managers agreed and told Nutrition Services.

“We are not aware of the milk at these few schools containing any contaminants,” officials said. “We believe this is simply a quality and taste issue.”…
