Louisville officer was driving 95 mph in a 45 mph zone before fatal wreck, records show

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville police officer was driving 95 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone on Fern Valley Road and didn’t have her cruiser’s lights and sirens activated when she was involved in a fatal crash April 2, according to investigative records.

In addition, there was no physical evidence Officer Alyssa Begel applied her brakes before the wreck, according to an investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Public Integrity Unit.
