LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools will be getting fresh milk this week, according to officials.
The district’s supplier, Prairie Farms, sent the following statement to WHAS11 News:
“Prairie Farms is committed to providing safe, high-quality milk to all our school partners. Last week, a combination of extreme temperatures, extended delivery times, and storage challenges contributed to concerns with some products served in Jefferson County Public Schools. Together with JCPS, we immediately put a corrective plan into place: all milk currently in schools is being removed and replaced with fresh product, delivery procedures have been reinforced to minimize heat-related risks, and temperature monitoring protocols have been strengthened. While not all schools experienced issues, we believe this collaborative approach ensures confidence in product quality moving forward. We appreciate JCPS’s partnership and remain fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, freshness, and service.”…
