Man arrested for stealing almost $1 million from his grandmother in southern Indiana nursing home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man was arrested for stealing almost $1 million from his grandmother living in a southern Indiana nursing home, according to Indiana State Police.

An investigation was originally started by the ISP in May of 2024 when a financial institution reported seemingly suspicious transactions from the accounts of an elderly woman in Madison, Indiana.

Investigators discovered that 54-year-old Eric Dyer of Batesburg, South Carolina, was named the power of attorney and legal guardian of his grandmother in 2021 while she was living in an assisted living center…
