Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating a road rage incident that escalated into gunfire on Highway 21 near Highway M yesterday afternoon. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, deputies responded around 4 p.m. after reports of a confrontation between a pickup truck and three motorcyclists.
A 69-year-old motorcyclist collided with the pickup truck and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 38-year-old motorcyclist also crashed and was treated at the scene. After the collisions, the 42-year-old pickup truck driver pulled over and was confronted by a third motorcyclist. During the encounter, the driver fired a shot, but no one was struck. The driver stayed at the scene for questioning.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stated that no arrests have been made and no charges are being sought at this time. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Officials asked anyone with information to contact investigators…
