Kentucky man allegedly steals SUV with baby inside, leaves child at hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Louisville man is facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, after hospital staff found a 9-month-old unattended in the lobby.

The call came in around 5:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Officers with Louisville Metro police said they were called to South Brook Street and East Broadway after parents reported that a black man with dreadlocks had driven away in their Gold Chevy Trailblazer with their infant inside.

A few minutes later, staff at U of L Health Jewish Hospital called for help after a black man with dreadlocks left a 9-month-old in the hotel lobby before fleeing the scene. According to court documents, the Chevy Trailblazer was found near South 27th Street, and officers were able to take the driver, 34-year-old Brandon Conley, into custody.
