Louisville man charged for allegedly hitting infant with controller

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Louisville man was charged with child abuse after allegedly hitting a 5-week-old in the head with a game controller, causing serious injuries.

According to an arrest citation, Louisville Metro Police arrested 31-year-old Steven Harris on Wednesday, Sept. 3, and charged him with assault and criminal abuse of a child 12 or under.

The citation said police were called by Child Protective Services on Aug. 31 after a 5-week-old infant was brought into Norton Children’s Hospital with skull fractures and a brain bleed.

The infant’s mother told police that Harris and she were arguing when he got upset and allegedly threw a game controller at the mother, hitting the baby in the head…
