Girl paralyzed after Louisville road rage shooting launches advocacy campaign to help end gun violence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A young girl who was left paralyzed from the waist down after a road rage shooting near I-65 and the University of Louisville is launching her own advocacy campaign to help end gun violence in the Metro.

On Wednesday, 8-year-old Onyx Sands, surrounded by family and community leaders, announced the launch of Onyx Strong: Advocating for Safe and Healthy Kids. The campaign aims to use Onyx’s message to motivate other children to get involved in the fight against gun violence.
