Louisville, KY – Nearly two decades after a sexual assault in Louisville, justice has been delivered. On Sept. 11, 2025, George Wayne Aldridge was convicted of first-degree rape in Jefferson County Circuit Court, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Aldridge, of Anderson County, was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before he becomes eligible for parole. Court officials also confirmed he will be required to register as a lifetime offender on the Kentucky sex offender registry.
According to investigators, the case was solved through the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI), a program funded by the U.S. Department of Justice. Evidence collected in 2005 was tested using modern DNA technology, which identified Aldridge as a suspect.
