Kentucky lawmaker rejects idea of increased taxes to address JCPS budget hole

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One Kentucky lawmaker is calling for Jefferson County Board of Education members to resign as the district faces a major, nearly $200 million budget deficit.

JCPS has until January to come up with a plan on where to cut spending and increase revenue before the 2026-27 school year kicks off.
