‘Aunt Dorothy ain’t dead!’ | Louisville woman’s home stolen in deed takeover

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Dorothy Tarpin bought her Parkland neighborhood home over 50 years ago. But in June, someone obtained it through a quitclaim deed—a process usually used when friends or family take possession of a home.

“I called my niece and told her I dreamed it,” Tarpin said. “And she said, ‘oh yes, somebody did steal your house Aunt Dorothy.'”
