LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With more than 50 solo albums and 15 collaborative records with renowned jazz group Fourplay, and a musical footprint stretching from the classical concert halls of the Midwest to the sampled beats of hip-hop, Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Bob James is a man whose melodies have touched generations.
James will return to Louisville in October with a fresh quartet, memories of Fort Knox, and a perspective shaped by eight decades of music.
Known for his fusion of jazz with electronic textures and orchestral arrangements, James’ story began at the age of four. It wasn’t through formal ambition, but by tagging along to his older sister’s piano lessons…
