Despite improvements Louisville on pace for 6th straight year of triple-digit homicides

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Arrests in Louisville are up and major crimes are down both by double digits compared to this time last year.

It is a trend Chief Paul Humphrey attributes to more officers on the street.

“The more officers are out there,” Humphrey said, “the more officers that are being visible, the more deterrent effect it has. The other effect it has is that we are actually taking people off the street that are committing crimes.”…
