JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — Shannon Sheehan had left his home with his step-son, 18-year-old Jeremiah, in the passenger seat. They drove down Billtown Road and Sheehan said were about a half mile away from home. That’s when Sheehan said a heavy metal object came through the windshield.
“It sounded like a bomb going off in my car,” Sheehan recalled. “All I heard was a mass explosion…I remember reaching over, looking over at [Jeremiah]. He had his face turned away just like I did from the glass. I grabbed him, naturally, trying to pull him down because I didn’t know what was going on.”
The impact sent glass everywhere, hitting Sheehan and Jeremiah. The damage angled more toward the passenger side. Jeremiah sustained the bulk of the injuries and had to go to the hospital for surgery…
