As Kentucky State Reformatory prepares to close, Humane Society rehomes cats from prison grounds

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE) – The Kentucky State Reformatory in Oldham County will soon be closing its doors, and its inmates will be relocated, but there are some other occupants on the prison grounds who need new homes.

The Humane Society of Oldham County is now working to rehome the dozens of cats on the prison property, but these cats aren’t suitable for just any living situation

“They don’t like to be touched, they don’t want to be petted, they don’t want to be around people, so that’s what makes them a good working cat,” said Debbie Croak, executive director at the Humane Society of Oldham County…
