LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Georgia man is behind bars after a short police chase in southern Indiana with two children in the car.
Indiana State Police said on Saturday about 6:30 p.m., a trooper was stopped conducting traffic patrol on southbound Interstate 65 north of Sellersburg when he saw a blue Jeep Cherokee, clocking it at 115 mph in a 70 mph zone. The trooper tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the Jeep, driven by 35-year-old Michael Anthony Tapia, of Georgia, drove away at a high rate of speed.
Tapia continued southbound on I-65, exiting at Sellersburg. ISP said Tapia ran the stop sign at the bottom of the ramp, and drove recklessly around other vehicles before taking the ramp to I-65 northbound…
