2 plane incidents reported Saturday at Louisville’s Bowman Field

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two separate plane incidents were reported Saturday afternoon at Louisville’s Bowman Field, marking the third and fourth incidents this month at the airport.

The first incident happened about 12:25 p.m. as a Cirrus SR22 aborted take off on Runway 6/24, coming to a rest in the grassy area near the runway with two people on board, according to Natalie Chaudoin, spokesperson for Bowman Field. Chaudoin said the plane was towed to the ramp area. Runway 6/24 remained open.

The second incident happened less than an hour after at about 1:10 p.m. on Runway 15/33 when a Sting Sport aircraft’s front gear was damaged after landing. Chaudoin said only the pilot was on board. Runway 15/33 was temporarily closed until about 4:45 p.m…
