‘Nowhere else to turn’: Federal shutdown puts food stamp recipients at risk

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (WAVE) – On any given day, you’re likely to find a steady stream of people at Jeffersontown Area Ministries (JAM).

“We’re seeing anywhere between 175 to 225 families a week come through our doors,” Executive Director Marlon Cummings said. “On Thursdays alone, we’re seeing 100 to 140 families that are coming through our door for assistance.”
