LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The heirs of Jamey Noel’s late brother want a judge to approve paying out more than $120,000 as part of a settlement they say they reached with Noel, the former Clark County Sheriff who pleaded guilty to several charges of theft, tax evasion, and money laundering during his time as sheriff and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
But lawyers representing New Chapel EMS, Utica Fire Protection District, and the state of Indiana say the judge should release none of this money.
The $120,000 comes from the court ordered sale of a house Jamey Noel sold to his daughter Kasey after his brother died. Noel gifted her the down payment, and the state’s criminal investigation found that the property was also undervalued…
