Louisville women’s group plans community food drive amid looming SNAP cutbacks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A local woman’s movement is mobilizing to feed families who will be affected by potential changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The Joan Effect organization said it saw the need to stock food pantries as over a half of a million of Kentuckians may lose food stamps, if the government shutdown continues in November.
