‘Don’t make me cry’: Louisville families worry about feeding their children if SNAP food benefits end

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Over a half million Kentuckians could lose their SNAP food assistance benefits if the government shutdown is not ended.

Local families say they are feeling the stress.

“My babies, they get fed at school,” Promise English, a mother of three, said, “but then they come home and they rely on meals to fill their bellies at home. So, it’s stressful. I’ve already thought about what I’m going to do come November.”…
