Clarksville Woman Arrested After Reckless Driving Call Leads to Major Drug Bust

CLARKSVILLE, INDIANA — A call about reckless driving on Veterans Parkway near Interstate 65 turned into a major drug bust last week when police discovered a woman behind the wheel allegedly under the influence and in possession of multiple narcotics.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded to reports of a driver swerving through traffic on October 22. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Courtney Harris unconscious inside her vehicle.

Officers Find Harris Unconscious and Surrounded by Drugs

Police said Harris showed clear signs of impairment when they woke her. A search of her car uncovered a large stash of drugs — including 68 grams of methamphetamine, as well as fentanyl, heroin, and numerous prescription pills.

Officers also located other drug paraphernalia believed to be used in packaging and distribution. Investigators said the quantity and variety of substances point to intent to distribute, not just personal use.

Facing Multiple Felony Drug Charges

Harris was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail, where she faces several charges including:

  • Dealing in Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Narcotics
  • Public Intoxication

Police said Harris has a prior history of drug-related arrests, which could impact her sentencing if convicted.
