Man killed by vehicle on I-64W after running from crash scene, Louisville police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after he was struck and killed on Interstate 64 West early Friday as he was running from the scene of a crash in the eastbound lanes.

According to a news release from Louisville Metro Police, around 2:06 a.m. officers responded to a report of a crash on I-64E at the junction with I-65. While at the scene, officers were told the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe rear-ended a Land Rover at a high rate of speed.

Police said the driver of the Hyundai ran from the vehicle after the crash. That’s when he was “subsequently struck by a passing motorist” in the westbound lanes of I-64…
