Louisville firefighter injured in fall battling fire in Portland neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville firefighter was injured while battling a fire in the Hallmark neighborhood Saturday night.

Louisville Fire responded to a house fire around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North 19th Street, near Columbia Street, said Captain Donovan Sims said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived, they found a fire coming from the second floor of the vacant two-story home. Crews deployed handlines, and it took 25 firefighters to get the fire under control, which was contained to the second floor, Sims said…
