LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – More than 100 seniors in Louisville have a new place to live before the holidays, as the ribbon has been cut on a new, affordable housing complex on Broadway.
The Gateway on Broadway is a renovated warehouse in the West End located in the Park Hill Industrial Corridor. It now offers 116 units of affordable senior housing, the corporate offices of The Housing Partnership Inc., and will be home to other nonprofits and resource options in the future.
“This project, this building, which stood vacant for over 50 years, is now a place of community, of light, and of homes,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg. “It is absolutely wonderful for the residents and this entire neighborhood. We are all here today united by the belief that everyone deserves a safe, quality, affordable place to live. And that’s why housing has been a top priority for my administration since my first day in office. And that’s why we have supported this project so strongly. And I’m thrilled with the amount of investment that all of the related city agencies have contributed. We need to do more of this.”…
